Description:
This film explores a family's experience under a tropical dictatorship in the 1980s – a dictatorship within their own home. The family communicated in silence, their unspoken words echoing in the house itself: in the walls, the objects, even the food. As soldiers marched in the streets, the sounds of their footsteps seemed to reverberate within the home of a military family, a place where words had become forgotten. Using limited records – photographs and fragmented confessions – the director uses a fictionalized retelling of this family story to examine the connection between personal experience and political power during the dictatorship of Panama.
