Brave Fire S09 (1987)

This animated work, submitted to a public relations competition for a power company but ultimately rejected, presents a pointed scenario: a story set on an exhausted Earth. The narrative features a girl robot capable of storing sunlight and converting it into energy, effectively rendering traditional power generation obsolete. The robot ultimately sacrifices herself to protect the existing space-based solar power system. Tezuka Osamu's unsuccessful submission appears deliberate, demonstrating his awareness of the sponsor and his intentional crafting of a narrative that directly challenges the power company's business model, encompassing the story, screenplay, animation, and narration.
