Description:
This Italian costume drama follows convicted women in France who are exiled to the penal colony on Devil's Island. There, they must navigate dangerous waters filled with alligators while searching for gold. The women, many of whom appear innocent of the crimes that led to their harsh punishment, face a brutal existence. To earn a day's rest, they must work at night with the island's guards and warden. However, the arrival of a new warden, played by Guy Madison, brings the potential for change to their lives.
