Novel Tanpa Huruf ‘R’ (2003)

Drum endured a difficult childhood, followed by the disappearance of his mother at sea during an escape from their village. Later, his father is fatally struck by a car, and his girlfriend is killed in a riot. As an adult, Drum works as a crime reporter and achieves success with a bestselling novel that attracts the attention of Air Sunyi (Lola Amaria), a student seeking it for her thesis. Air contacts Drum at his beach house, but she is subsequently held captive. It appears Drum is using her to locate his mother's image. Air fights back, biting off Drum’s finger in the process. This scene was censored from the VCD. The film concludes with Air receiving a package from Drum containing his novel, "Novel Tanpa Huruf R."
