Yield to Total Elation: The Life and Art of Achilles Rizzoli (2000)

Yield to Total Elation explores the life and work of Achilles G. Rizzoli, an enigmatic artist who worked as a regular draftsman but spent his nights creating elaborate, unbuildable monuments inspired by divine visions. The drawings, accompanied by Rizzoli's witty reflections, were translations of his hallucinations and inner voices. The film combines Rizzoli’s words with archival footage, photos, and scenes of San Francisco’s historic architecture to tell his story – an exploration of architecture as a source of joy, remembrance, and renewal.
