Description:
A Home of Your Own, a 1964 British comedy, chronicles a young couple's journey to build their dream house. The film follows their progress from selecting the land to finally moving in, several years and with children later. It’s a humorous, largely silent portrayal of mishaps as a series of inept workers attempt to complete the construction. Possibly inspired by Bernard Cribbins' song "Right Said Fred," the film satirizes British builders. Expect plenty of tea, broken windows, and repeated roadworks caused by various utility companies. Ronnie Barker plays a beleaguered cement mixer, Peter Butterworth a nearsighted carpenter, and Bernard Cribbins a clumsy stonemason, all contributing to the escalating chaos.
