The Story of the Blue-Eyed Girl (2009)

During World War II in a remote village in Kōchi, Japan, a prejudice against Americans and British people exists due to wartime losses suffered by the villagers. Eiko, an elementary schoolgirl with blue eyes inherited from her American father, transfers to the village from Yokohama and becomes the target of relentless bullying from her classmates, who are largely uninhibited in their treatment of her. Most of the teachers share this negative view, except for her homeroom teacher, Akiko. However, a boy named Kenta is curious about Eiko rather than hostile. The children's lives are disrupted when a wounded veteran returns from the war and news of further casualties reaches the village.
