Commemorative Photo (1978)

This unique animated film is made up of 99 still images. It tells the strange story of a walking doll named Margaret who kidnaps and imprisons a female student wearing a sailor uniform. The entire film was created using a precise, in-camera editing technique on a single 100-foot reel. The director appears in this funny, experimental Pop art film, which is considered one of Nakamura’s most famous works.
