Description:
Edouard Binet, a directionless Frenchman, has spent years wandering North Africa and is now traveling to Belgium. He meets Sylvie Baron at sea and introduces her to Nemrod Lobetoum, a wealthy Egyptian carrying valuable jewels. Sylvie and Nemrod quickly become friends, and their friendship blossoms into love, sparking jealousy in Edouard. Shortly after arriving in France, Edouard appears at a boarding house owned by Sylvie's mother, Mme. Louise Baron, wearing bloodstained clothes. Nemrod has apparently been murdered on a train after arriving in France, but Edouard denies any involvement. Sylvie suspects Edouard is responsible, but her mother has now sided with him.
