Description:
Every year on November 30th, the date of King Karl XII's death, Stockholm sees demonstrations from both far-right and counter-protest groups. This story reimagines "West Side Story" in the Alby suburb of Stockholm, a diverse area with a large immigrant population. While distinct from the original, the film features scenes with a raw, live-like quality. Adam, a member of a Nazi group prejudiced against immigrants, falls deeply in love with Julia, whose family fled Peru as political refugees. Their intense connection leads Adam to leave his group. However, when Julia's brother kills his best friend, Adam retaliates. As a result, they are both pursued by the police and Julia’s family. Ultimately, both Adam and Julia are killed, and the film offers no path toward reconciliation.
