Pepe (35), an innkeeper, and Beca (30), a singer, both receive a leukemia diagnosis and undergo treatment at Hope Hospital in Miami. Pepe finds support from his brother Manuel, while Beca navigates a strained relationship with her mother Maria Elena. As they search for a cure, Pepe and Beca fall in love, their lives changing through a series of humorous and emotional experiences. They discover resilience through humor and affection as they cope with their illness. Pepe tries to conceal his background, and Beca faces new challenges because of their love, ultimately leading her to a difficult choice. Beyond the fear of not surviving the treatment, Pepe worries about losing Beca.
