Description:
In December 1980, John Lennon and Yoko Ono had largely avoided the media for five years. Preparing to promote a new album, Lennon agreed to an interview with BBC Radio One DJ Andy Peebles in New York. He unexpectedly spoke candidly about previously unaddressed topics: The Beatles' dissolution, his relationship with Paul McCartney, struggles with addiction, political matters in the US and UK, his family, and longing for Liverpool. Lennon’s raw honesty and direct revelations are particularly poignant, given he was fatally shot just 48 hours later. John Lennon was 40 years old at the time of his death. December 2020 marks the 40th anniversary of his passing; he would have been 80.
