Paavo, a Life in Five Courses (2010)

Finnish farm boy Paavo Turtiainen finds work in the Parisian household of Swedish theater producer Lars Schmidt and his wife, actress Ingrid Bergman. The couple take Paavo under their wing, training him to thrive in high society. He later becomes Schmidt and Bergman's personal secretary, responsible for organizing their personal archives. Bergman's archives are now held at Wesleyan University, while Schmidt's are at the Library of Congress. After Schmidt and Bergman divorce, Paavo decides to make a life for himself in New York. He begins by working with friends of Schmidt – celebrities and business figures he met in Paris and on Dannholmen, a Swedish island owned by Schmidt. Eventually, Paavo becomes a renowned chef and event planner for the wealthy, learning to be independent along the way.
