Description:
A small Czech village once known for its sauerkraut and beer is transformed by the arrival of a massive, silver factory – a Korean Hyundai plant. This industrial development, the Czech Republic's largest ever, dramatically alters the community. Initially resistant, the villagers eventually give way to pressure from neighbors and even threats. Two years later, the filmmakers revisit Nošovice as the factory begins production of affordable cars. Through the stories of seven characters, the film presents a darkly humorous and unsettling look at a place irrevocably changed by its new industry – a satirical story about a field that now produces cars.
