Daughter of Yan’an (2003)

In Yan'an, the legendary heart of the Chinese Revolution, Hai Xia begins a journey to discover her past. Abandoned as a baby by Red Guard parents sent from Beijing during the Cultural Revolution, she seeks answers about her origins, a quest that awakens difficult memories for those who lived through that time. Huang Yuling, who shares a similar history, joins her search. He was imprisoned for "counter-revolutionary crimes" and lost a child under similar circumstances. After three decades, Hai Xia and Huang Yuling embark on a path to uncover the truth.
