Description:
Young artist Ivan's exhibition piece, exploring the importance of values, sparks controversy. The artwork draws the attention of religious activists, officials, and journalists. Consequently, the painting is removed from the exhibition, and the activists attack and then set fire to Ivan’s studio. Though the painting survives, Ivan faces criminal charges. He and the exhibition's curator seek help from the Pen & Paper Bar Association. Lawyers begin preparing a defense, and Ivan unexpectedly encounters musician Sergei Shnurov, who also appears to need assistance.
