Cris (Archie de Calma) is riding a jeepney bus along the Elliptical Road near the Quezon Memorial Circle when a robbery occurs, and he is threatened with a knife. Facing his mortality, he wonders what choices he could have made to avoid this fate. "Circles" recounts Cris' life in the days before the robbery. Working as a trader at the Quezon Memorial Circle, he encounters people from all walks of Filipino life – fruit vendors, student protesters, and sex workers – all connected by the park and its landmarks. With the boldness and creativity of Pablo Santiago's previous films ("Doubt," "Bathhouse") and made with a low-budget, improvisational style, "Circles" aims to be engaging, evocative, and sensual for gay audiences.
