A Georgian Toast (2020)

While filming the documentary "The Gift," Giuliano Fratini encounters the renowned Marlen Khutsiev, who initially offers to discuss Andrei Tarkovsky. However, as a gesture of gratitude to his Italian visitors, Khutsiev expresses a desire to talk about Italy, specifically Federico Fellini, and their friendship formed at the 1963 Moscow Film Festival. At the time, Fellini sought out the young Georgian director, who was facing difficulties with the Soviet authorities. This short film serves as a tribute to both the Italian genius and the Georgian master.
