Description:
Nurit Kedar’s film observes Israeli snipers on the front lines of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Kedar accompanies patrol units, interviewing both young and experienced marksmen. Gaining access to the Israeli army and the soldiers themselves proved difficult, and the film offers little in the way of new insight. One veteran asks, "What do you want me to say?" Shame and defiance are prevalent. A conscript remarks, "I won't be allowed in heaven." At times, Kedar captures the absurdity, the ritualistic nature, and unsettling composure of their work. They are tasked with targeting the arms and legs of stone throwers. One soldier admits, "I used to say I was responsible for a lot of legless Palestinians. I would never say that now."
