Description:
Set in a village in central Shaanxi during the late 1990s, this is a story about Ba-Wang Chaoguo, a struggling primary school student constantly criticized for his poor grades. Feeling unseen by his parents and teachers, Ba-Wang Chaoguo finds solace in a large tree in the field, which he considers his "home," storing his treasured possessions within its branches. This childlike behavior creates friction with the adult world. However, things change when Miss Fen arrives as his teacher, appointing him as class librarian. He develops a close friendship with her, and the tree becomes a shared space for both of them. But this newfound happiness is threatened by the arrival of Miss Fen's boyfriend, leading to a shift in how Ba-Wang Chaoguo is treated.
