Description:
Shanzi's father, a seasoned hunter, trained him to be a skilled marksman. The Japanese invasion resulted in the massacre of his village and the brutal deaths of his family, leaving the sixteen-year-old orphaned. While ambushing a Japanese soldier, Shanzi seized his weapon but was intercepted by Eighth Route Army soldiers. After a series of events, he joined the army hoping to avenge his parents and fight the invaders. However, the commander assigned him to the cooking squad under Lao Jiaodong. During a dangerous mission covering a large force, the squad was ambushed by the Japanese and found themselves in a desperate battle. Lao Jiaodong sacrificed himself to save Shanzi. Afterward, Shanzi became a lone hunter, determined to fight the Japanese on his own.
