In Havana's poorest neighborhood, Rumba Morena is a band of nine women who perform Cuban Rumba with incredible passion. While Rumba music is common in Havana, Rumba Morena stands out because it's entirely female – a departure from tradition, where the music is played only by men. "Uproar" examines the intricate relationship between religion, music, and gender as it applies to Rumba Morena, and explores the reasons behind the resistance from some men to their music.
