At the White Cat Inn, the staff grows uneasy with the frequent visits of Johan, the postman. This well-dressed man persistently pursues Kristýna, the widowed innkeeper, despite his disdain for the locals. Kristýna's son, Vítek, strongly disapproves, especially when Johan tries to remove the inn's beloved white cat. Determined to drive Johan away, Vítek, Kristýna's servants, and her friend, the poacher Prokop, scheme to make his life difficult. Strange events begin to unfold at the inn...
