82 Warriors (2013)

On March 18, 1943, eighty-two soldiers from the New Fourth Army's 7th Brigade fought a desperate delaying action at Liulaozhuang, Jiangsu Province. Their mission: to protect the safe passage of the main force and government officials. Outnumbered over ten to one by Japanese troops, they stubbornly resisted more than ten attacks. All eighty-two soldiers died in the battle, but their fierce resistance inflicted over 170 casualties and 200 injuries on the Japanese. Defending open ground with limited resources, they achieved remarkable success through unconventional warfare, holding off the Japanese for over ten hours and ensuring the safe evacuation of Liulaozhuang.
