Description:
"On the Wings of Hope" follows the four-year struggle for survival of five immigrants – including a child – after their boat sank en route to Greece from Turkey. In 2015, five Iraqi refugees fleeing ISIS attacks attempted to reach Kos Island, surviving a shipwreck off the coast of Bodrum. Turkish journalist Zehra Yılmaz documented their disappointments, pain, and enduring hopes over four years. The film portrays the risks these refugees take for a new life, the tragic loss of life at sea, and shattered dreams.
