Prison Circle (2020)

Kaori Sakagami spent six years gaining access to film inside a Japanese prison. Her documentary follows a special program where a few inmates participate in a therapeutic circle, aiming to understand the root causes of their actions. Even after release, these former inmates receive ongoing support from psychologists and social workers. The film highlights how, within this program, the inmates develop the ability to support one another and share their personal stories.
