Description:
Set near Ancient Corinth in the mid-4th century BCE, the story follows the transfer of ships between the Corinth Gulf and the Gulf of Saronikos. To avoid a perilous journey around the Peloponnese, vessels were moved along the Diolkos, an eight-wheeled road running parallel to the future Corinth Canal. The film details the technical aspects of this operation alongside everyday scenes: sailors visiting a Greek temple, a tavern with a possible Hydraulis performance, and a public fountain along the road.
