"Blind Country" is a video project inspired by H.G. Wells' short story of the same name. It tells the story of a man who journeys to a land inhabited by blind people and tries to impose his own power, based on sight, onto their culture, which is rich in sensory experiences. The video opens with animated fruit and a warning about replenishing a dwindling supply. In the North, a male-dominated region, candy-filled pinatas symbolize phallic power. The protagonist, stripped of authority and seemingly castrated, is treated as a buffoon as he's led through the South, a land described as feminine, earthy, and focused on the senses – a direct contrast to the North's emphasis on male dominance.
