Description:
NESHOBA is set in a Mississippi town grappling with the legacy of justice 40 years after the murders of civil rights workers James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner. While Klansmen openly boasted about their actions in 1964, accountability didn't come until 2005 with the indictment of 80-year-old preacher Edgar Ray Killen, a notorious racist and suspected mastermind of the killings. The film uses intimate interviews with the victims’ families, candid conversations with Black and white residents of Neshoba County, and unprecedented interviews with Killen himself to examine whether healing and reconciliation are possible without confronting the full truth.
