Description:
This Marathi war film explores a modern take on historical pride connected to 17th-century Maratha emperor Shivaji. Major Subhanrao Malusare, a descendant of Shivaji's lieutenant Tanaji Malusare, earns a Victoria Cross as an Allied officer in World War II. After his death, his wife Savitri forbids their son from joining the army. However, during the 1962 India-China conflict, spurred by the death of a friend, she convinces him to fight for India, even if it means ending their family's legacy. The film updates traditional Shivaji stories with patriotic songs like "He bharatiyano aika balidan katha veeranchi."
