Description:
In 1936, Sergei Prokofiev's celebrated symphony tells the story of a young boy who cleverly outsmarts a cunning wolf. George Daugherty presents this classic tale to new audiences, blending live-action with animation and music performed by the RCA Symphony Orchestra. The film begins with a grandfather (Lloyd Bridges) entertaining his daughter (Kirstie Alley) and grandson (Ross Malinger) at his countryside home. After eating, the grandfather recounts "The Story" of Peter's escapades with a bird, cat, and duck in a dark forest. The story transforms into a witty cartoon created by Chuck Jones, known for Wile E. Coyote. The story within the story comes alive as the musical instruments become lively characters.
