Description:
In Trinidad, circa 1940, Ganesh Ramseyor, an East Indian, lives with his wife, Leela. He desires to connect with people, particularly Hindus, and establish himself as a writer. He achieves considerable success, gaining fame as a miracle worker – curing a man of an unusual obsession, dissuading another from believing he could fly, and helping a young woman break a fast. Thousands flock to him for blessings, which he gives freely to those in need. He then challenges the local politician Pandit Narayan Chandrashekhar, known as Cyrus T., and takes over The Hindu Organization, paving the way for a seat in the Legislative Assembly.
