Is justice truly impartial? Two friends find themselves on opposite sides of a brutal rape case. The case hinges on the testimony of a woman whose life is vastly different from theirs. As the trial progresses, their own lives begin to fall apart, forced to confront conflicting truths. Nina Raine’s moving and often darkly humorous play examines the evidence from every perspective, ultimately questioning justice itself. "Consent" premiered in April 2017 in a co-production with Out of Joint at the National Theatre. This recording was made on May 9th, 2017.
