Harat (2007)

Sepideh and Darya, mother and daughter, embark on a journey to connect with their extended family. Sepideh, a successful filmmaker, and Darya, a child with a vision for filmmaking, travel from Paris to Tehran and beyond, even crossing into Afghanistan. They carry video cameras with them, including a small, discreet one. Along the way, they capture landscapes, villages, and the stories of people separated by distance and different paths. During their travels, Sepideh turns their experiences into bedtime stories for Darya. The film subtly explores the intricate connections within their family history, creating a personal and intimate family album.
