Laddy and the Lady (2006)

"Laddy and the Lady" tells the story of a golden retriever who gets out of control during a pheasant hunt. The film alternates between scenes from the hunt and flashbacks depicting Laddy's difficult puppyhood, when he was separated from his mother. On the hunt, Laddy endures physical and verbal abuse common in gun dog training. His failure to perform as expected leads to constant punishment, transforming him into a target for abuse.
