Twenty to Life: The Life & Times of John Sinclair (2004)

John Sinclair rose from a small-town Michigan upbringing to become a prominent cultural activist in the 1960s. He managed the MC5 and served as Chairman of the White Panther Party. An early target of the War on Drugs, Sinclair was initially sentenced to 20 years for giving marijuana to an undercover officer. After serving 29 months of a lengthy sentence, his legal victory changed drug laws nationwide. A large Freedom Rally featuring John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Stevie Wonder, and other notable figures culminated in Sinclair's release from prison on December 13, 1971, just three days after the rally.
