He's driven by a mission to uphold the country's strict blasphemy laws, which mandate the death penalty for disrespecting the Prophet Muhammad and life imprisonment for Quran desecration. With widespread support, Rizvi uses death threats to silence dissenters seeking to reform the laws. As he seeks greater power, Rizvi announces his candidacy in the upcoming general elections, transforming those accused of blasphemy, as well as liberals and dissenting Muslim voices, into tools for his political ambitions.
