Catherine’s Room (2001)

This video work is part of 'The Passions,' a series exploring human emotions inspired by old European religious art. Five screens depict different times of day: morning, afternoon, sunset, evening, and night. Each scene shows a woman engaged in a different activity – yoga in the morning, lighting candles in the evening, preparing for bed. Throughout, a tree outside the window progresses through its yearly cycle, connecting the woman's daily routine to the natural world. The work draws inspiration from a panel by the 14th-century artist Andrea di Bartolo.
