Description:

Sheldon Bart (Fred Ward) is a wanderer with a knack for petty scams. He reconnects with his old friend, Brother Bud (Harry Dean Stanton), a larger-than-life con man who combines faith healing with stolen car rings at his revival tent outside a quiet town. While assisting Brother Bud, Sheldon falls for Arlene (Cindy Williams), a local supermarket worker who is both deeply religious and profoundly lonely, and who believes in UFOs. When Arlene experiences a vision of an impending UFO event, everyone reacts according to their own beliefs.
