Divorce Albanian Style (2007)

In 1961, Albania severed ties with the Soviet Union, leading to a brutal separation of families. Albanian men married to foreign women were forced to divorce their wives, who were expelled from the country under the guise of preventing espionage. This resulted in a mass expulsion of women and children, with those who resisted facing years in prison. Families were divided for over three decades. Now, they seek to reunite. The film explores the stories of three such couples, alongside the officials and secret service personnel responsible for their destruction.
