Description:
In Belfast during the Troubles, the unremarkable 24-year-old virgin Eamonn (Kris Marshall) lives with his mother. Local woman Mary Malloy (Tara O'Neil), who has a reputation for being widely experienced, decides Eamonn is her next conquest. He unexpectedly charms her, and she becomes pregnant despite using contraception. A doctor discovers Eamonn possesses an exceptionally high sperm count. With Ireland's declining birth rate, Millicent (Bronagh Gallagher) arranges for Eamonn to father children for women whose husbands are infertile, a practice approved by the local Catholic church as morally preferable to artificial insemination.
