Description:
Test pilot John Mitchell feels responsible for his family's struggles and believes he's on a path to failure. At Conway Aero-Manufacturing, he's tasked with a crucial test flight of the company's new rocket-powered plane, carrying a Ministry official and a potential buyer. Mitchell is warned by his boss, Reg Conway, that the plane's success is vital for the company's survival and his own job security, as they have no insurance and all their resources are invested in the aircraft. During the flight, an engine catches fire, forcing everyone to evacuate, but Mitchell defies orders to abandon the plane over the Irish Sea.
