Description:
Architect Daniel Brenner, in his late thirties, gets his first big break: designing a cultural center in an East Berlin satellite town. He insists on working with a team of his own choosing, reuniting with former colleagues and friends who had pursued other careers due to limitations in the GDR. Together, they create a design meant to be more engaging than typical government buildings. But their ambitious plans are repeatedly blocked by conservative superiors. As frustration mounts, Daniel struggles to balance his career with his family life, as his wife Wanda plans to move to West Germany.
