Through interviews with Carl Bernstein, Bob Woodward, Walter Cronkite, Oliver Stone, Watergate prosecutor Richard Ben-Veniste, and others, the film explores the methods, motivations, and lasting impact of Deep Throat, the man who secretly guided the investigation. Deep Throat is revealed to be W. Mark Felt, the FBI's Deputy Director during the Watergate scandal.
