Berlin in the Winter (2003)

This film is part of my ongoing project, "Re-interpretation of Private Films," drawing from forgotten home movies. It centers on Mr. A.O., a Japanese diplomat who began his assignment in Berlin in 1929 and was deeply drawn to filmmaking. While often dismissed as simple home movies, a closer look reveals sensibilities reminiscent of filmmakers like Ruttmann and Vertov from the 1920s. This work aims to rediscover these lost films.
