Boldstar (2003)

Selena (Alison) endured abuse at the hands of her mother's lover as a child. When her mother discovers them, she doesn't protect Selena but instead believes her lover's deceit and banishes her from home. Forced onto the streets, Selena becomes vulnerable. A kind man rescues her and becomes a father figure, helping her cope with painful childhood memories. She enters the entertainment industry, where success seems possible, but her traumatic past continues to haunt her, preventing her from living a normal life.
