Description:
Lau enjoys drinking and having affairs, but he's also a respected writer in the cultural scene. His editor, however, is focused on profit and pressures Lau to write action-packed fantasy stories and sexually explicit material. After a well-intentioned attempt at a more artistic publication flops, Lau gives in to commercial demands and writes almost anything to make ends meet. Troubled by memories of World War II and his career disappointments, Lau increasingly turns to alcohol and women.
