Description:
In the mountains of Sichuan, China, the government delivers films to remote villages. The story centers on a projectionist who, at 37, recalls a time when he transported his projector by foot and bicycle, showing films on makeshift screens in front of farms. Today, he uses a motorcycle to carry a large screen, the films traveling thousands of kilometers from Beijing to Chengdu via satellite before he retrieves them. Villagers gather on the roadside with stools to watch the screenings, a scene set against the backdrop of Beijing and the bamboo-covered mountains above Chengdu.
