Description:
In a U.S. Army intelligence office, clumsy Lieutenant Peter Stirling receives a coded message from his friend, Francis – a talking mule. The message urges Pete to get to the Coronado, California naval base quickly, where Francis is scheduled to be sold off as surplus. Pete rushes to the train station, but Nurse Betsy Donevan mistakes him for her brother, Navy boatswain Slicker Donevan, who is suffering from shell shock. She attempts to stop Pete from boarding the train by trying to remove his uniform, believing he's about to cause trouble for impersonating an Army officer. Eventually, she realizes Pete isn’t Slicker, just his doppelganger.
