Description:
Set in 1970s Brazil, during the country's military dictatorship, *O Amigo Dunor* feels like a recently discovered film from that era. Marcel, a young French writer, travels to Brazil to fulfill a childhood dream: to experience the country and write a book about it, including a trip to the Amazon. In Rio de Janeiro, he befriends a group working on a crime thriller. The director is Stan, his wife Carla stars in it with their daughter Melissa, and Julio, an Argentine refugee, wrote the script. The film within the film tells the story of Louis, who is blind, and Marta, who has a disability – a married couple struggling with relationship and financial problems. The story alternates between Marcel's experiences and the world of his new friends.
